The last portion of a yearlong, $8.9 million renovation project of Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s Kissel Hill outpatient facility opened on Tuesday in Warwick Township.

A new specialty medicine practice housing five providers with expertise in different specialties is the final addition to the outpatient facility.

Kissel Hill has operated at 51 Peters Road, Warwick Township, since 2003- offering everything from primary care and women’s health to a laboratory and sports medicine.

Mary Ann Eckard, public relations and corporate communications with Penn Medicine, said that the health care system saw a need in Kissel Hill to make the facility a one-stop shop for patients. A new pharmacy and urgent care center were also additions made this year as part of the project.

“If you are getting care from multiple providers, those doctors can talk to one another and it makes care easier for the patient,” Eckard said. “This is our first specialty practice with multiple specialties under one roof. You can get it all done at that one location.”

The practice offers care in behavioral health, geriatrics, pain management, diabetes and endocrinology.

The practice is staffed by physicians or advanced practice providers from Lancaster General Health’s medical staff. Eckard said that the system looked at both the market and requests from patients when deciding what specialties were needed in the facility.

“If it is an unmet need and there’s demand, especially with folks who visit that location more frequently, those things come together to show us what specialties we need,” Eckard said.

Ten staff members are working at the new practices and Eckard says that about half are new hires. Other services offered at the facility includes pediatric, physical therapy and imaging services.
