OSAGE, Iowa – Health professionals from across the U.S. held activities in honor of National Women’s Health and Fitness Day.
The Cedar River Complex in Osage partnered with the Mitchell County Regional Health Center to provide booths and fitness classes for women.
Attendees were also able to get health screenings and information on workshops.
“We are a rec center but we’re more than that, we also have a lot of fitness classes and also fitness programs where programs meet two times a week. We offer lunch and learns here once a month for wellness and we also offer activities for kids and adults of all ages,” says Gayle Nelson, Wellness Manager.
A technician from the Mitchell County Regional Center also presented a lunch and learn presentation focusing on 3D mammography.
They are currently fundraising to upgrade to a new 3D mammography system.
